Calico (Jacob Zimmer) has been DJing dance floors at clubs, concert venues, and parties around Seattle since 2013. Never limiting himself to a single style or genre, you might catch him laying down the boogie at a patio party on a sunny Seattle summer day then do a double-take when you see him a few hours later on stage in a packed club on Capitol Hill getting the crowd amped up on niche club tracks, raucous rap tunes, and cheeky guilty pleasures. Since November 2021, he has served as DJ and Music Director for each “co-” event, collaborating with over 20 dance artists.

Calico produces Bad Idea and Don't Think!, two parties that are Seattle nightlife mainstays. Bad Idea is a monthly, Seattle-based community & dance party showcasing the best DJs in the PNW playing with club sounds from around the globe: Baile Funk, Jersey Club, House, UKG, Afrobeats, DNB & so much more. Don't Think! is a weekly party and industry night at Gold Bar on Capitol Hill every Thursday featuring Calico and a rotating cast of guest DJs spinning remixes, guilty pleasures, and ass shakers for the dance floor.

He regularly releases dance edits and remixes on his SoundCloud and Bandcamp, fusing elements of Baltimore Club, House, Breaks, and Jersey Club into playful tracks with DJs and dance floors in mind. @calicosea / calicosea.com
